This collection celebrates some of the favorite icons of the game.

HOME RETRO JERSEY

Maybe the most storied and iconic jersey pattern ever worn by the franchise in its 40 season history. Synonymous with the team’s 1989 Stanley Cup victory, being the jersey the club wore winning the Cup on the road in Montreal. The pattern left the club after the 1993-94 season where it was the club’s away jersey. It made a few appearances as an alternate jersey from 2009-2020 but was officially reintroduced as the team’s home jersey in 2020-21.

AWAY RETRO JERSEY

The inaugural home jersey for the Flames when they first entered the league in 1980, the “Away Retro” was actually never the team’s road jersey until the 2020-21 season. The jersey pattern was the club’s home jersey until 1994 when the team changed its white home sweater design completely. It wouldn’t be until a decade later that the league would change to team dark jerseys being the official home jerseys. This white pattern jersey made its return as the 2019-20 Heritage Classic jersey where Calgary was the away team and finally became the team’s official road jersey when the team returned to its original branding in the 2020-21 season.

BLASTY JERSEY

During the 2020-21 season, the league launched the Blasty alternate jersey program that saw teams use designs from the past with a fresh take on the original look. The Flames took the opportunity to bring back a true blast from the past. Known to fans as “Blasty” the fire snorting horse was the featured crest on the team’s alternate jersey introduced in 1998-99. The pattern went on to become the team’s official away jersey during the first years of the 2000’s when it was finally left out to pasture at the end of the 2002-03 season. Blasty made its triumphant return with the Blasty Jersey series, mostly due to fan outcry to be brought back.

ALTERNATE JERSEY

First introduced as the Flames primary jersey in 2007-08 as the second iteration to use the black C crest, this team look has been with the club for the better part of 14 seasons. It was worn as the team’s alternate jersey in its final season and is now officially no longer an active design that the team wears. The pattern was made first by Reebok and then Adidas with some slight modifications. However, each version featured distinct flags on the shoulders honouring both Canada and Alberta. The only club in the NHL to have such a display on their jerseys, it was the late Ken King, former President and CEO of the Flames, who spearheaded the flag design.
